Susumu Fujita's 2025 GI Longines Breeders' Cup Classic and Sept. 18 GI Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes winner, Forever Young (Jpn) (Real Steel {Jpn}), closed as the 5-2 favorite upon the completion of betting Sunday in Pool #2 of the Longines Breeders' Cup Classic Future Wager.The 5-year-old, trained by Yoshito Yahagi, led the field of 17 horses and one “All Other Starters Not Listed” wagering interest in the second Future Wager pool for the $7 million Longines Breeders' Cup Classic, which will be run Oct. 31 at Keeneland Race Course.The Longines Breeders' Cup Classic Future Wager, which is a win bet with a $2 minimum, generated $134,658 in total handle on Pool #2. A $2 wager on Forever Young will pay $7.68.Forever Young was followed by 2025 GI Kentucky Derby and GI Belmont Stakes winner and Horse of the Year Sovereignty (Into Mischief) for Godolphin LLC, and trainer Bill Mott. Winner of this year's GI Whitney Stakes, Sovereignty closed at 9-2 ($11.14).Next was Knightsbridge (Nyquist) at 6-1 odds ($14.82), winner of the GI Pacific Classic Stakes, and also owned by Godolphin and trained by Mott. Phipps Stable and St. Elias Stable's Golden Tempo (Curlin), winner of this year's Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes, was next at odds of 6-1 ($15.74) for trainer Cherie DeVaux. The fifth choice was Winchell Thoroughbreds LLC's G1 Dubai World Cup and GI Stephen Foster Stakes winner Magnitude, trained by Steve Asmussen, at 7-1 ($16.62).
