Currently the leading trainer in North America this year with over $26.8 million in earnings, Brad Cox had no shortage of star power in this edition of Down the Shedrow, presented by OBS Sales.The Louisville native secured his ninth title as leading trainer at Keeneland this spring, highlighted by Further Ado's victory in the GI Blue Grass Stakes, and he'll look to make it an even 10 at the upcoming Fall Meet.From Keeneland opening weekend contenders, several Breeders' Cup hopefuls, and of course a GI Travers Stakes hero, here is a preview of the stars featured in the latest Down the Shedrow: FURTHER ADO (Gun Runner)A $550,000 OBS April purchase for Spendthrift Farm, the three-time graded stakes winner makes his career finale in the GI Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile.He ran a great race in the Pennsylvania Derby. We're very happy with the effort and how he came out of it. The Puma (Essential Quality) got the jump on us and ran a big race. We're pointing him for the Dirt Mile at the Breeders' Cup and very pleased with how he's moving out of the last race. We're looking forward to giving him one more start before he starts his stud career at Spendthrift.He has always been very talented. You don't send them to Saratoga as a 2-year-old if they don't show you a good bit in the morning. He shows up every time for the most part. The Kentucky Derby was a throw out, like it is for a lot of horses every year, but he ran well here in the GIII Matt Winn. I'm going to blame the racetrack for his GI Haskell, but I thought he rebounded really well the other day in the Pennsylvania Derby.CONCEIT (Not This Time) Juddmonte homebred won the GIII Dogwood Stakes and is now pointing for the Oct. 17 GII Raven Run Stakes. This is a really nice filly for Juddmonte by Not This Time. She got up late in the Dogwood and put in a big effort. We started her off on the turf and some synthetic races as well, but transferred her to the dirt in an off-the-turf race this spring and she ran really well. She ran big at Ellis in the Audubon Oaks and was able to pick up a Grade III this past weekend at Churchill. We're looking at maybe running her back in the GII Lexus Raven Run at Keeneland, but we're excited about her and will hopefully bring her back next year as well. Hopefully there's a Grade I somewhere down the road for her. 'TDN Rising Star' Q B Rocket will make his second start in this weekend's GI Breeders' Futurity at Keeneland | Sarah AndrewQ B ROCKET (Gun Runner)Debut maiden winner is pointing for the GI Breeders' Futurity this weekend at KeenelandThis is a nice colt that broke his maiden first time out at Saratoga. He ran against a good horse of Chad Brown's [Card Man (Life Is Good)] that came back and won this past weekend going a mile at Belmont. We've liked this colt pretty much since he came in at Keeneland. We're pointing for the GI Breeders' Futurity with him at Keeneland. Obviously it's the first time around two turns, second start of his life, but he's a son of Gun Runner and seems like he's nice. He's owned by Spendthrift and Frank Fletcher. Hopefully, we can win a Grade I with him and he'd be a horse that you'd think about the likes of the Kentucky Derby moving forward.IMMERSIVE (Nyquist) Godolphin homebred champion will go to this weekend's GI Spinster Stakes at Keeneland. This year at four she won the GII Fleur de Lis and just ran third in the GII Locust Grove. She is pointing for the GI Juddmonte Spinster and if all goes well, the GI Breeders' Cup Distaff.She's a really nice filly that has made a couple million dollars. A champion at two, three-time Grade I winner and just a cool filly to be around. She's a little aggressive to train, but honest and always runs hard. She's never been out of the money in all of her starts.Verifire, winner of the Reigh Count Stakes at Colonial in his last start, is entered for this weekend's GII Phoenix Stakes | Coady MediaVERIFIRE (Authentic)A $1 million OBS March graduate, the dual stakes winner will go to this weekend's GII Phoenix Stakes. Verifire is a nice colt that just won last time out at Colonial. We're pointing him for the Phoenix at Keeneland. I've become a big fan of this horse. He wasn't a super obvious horse training in the mornings, but once he started running, he really just started going. He started out three for three, winning the Maxfield Stakes here as a 3-year-old. We had to give him a little time off after his run at Saratoga last year, but he's been really consistent and honest this year and hopefully he can step up and be a factor in the Phoenix. He's physically developed a good bit this year and seems to be training really well.LEADING CHANGE (Gun Runner) Undefeated in three starts including the GI Travers Stakes for Wathnan Racing.He is a really classy horse. He obviously had a little late start in his racing career with breaking his maiden here in June, but we always thought he was a really nice colt and he's accomplished a lot in a short period of time. Three starts and he is a Grade I winner now. He's very easy to deal with and easy to train. Not sure where we'll end up this year. We're looking at maybe the GII Clark Stakes, and with him being so lightly raced, we're excited about what the future holds for him as a four-year-old.STELLIFY (Justify) Dual Grade III winner is owned by Elements Racing, George Messina and Michael Lee.She's won the GIII Ladies Marathon Invitational Stakes at Kentucky Downs the last two seasons. She loves that course. It took us a little while to get her to the races. She didn't start her career until she was four, but it was worth the wait. She's been very good. I think she's made over a couple million dollars now. We're looking at the Breeders' Cup with her to be her third run off the layoff and she's moving fantastic. Her works have been great since the Kentucky Downs race and we're looking forward to having her fresh and ready to roll in the Breeder's Cup. She's a big, beautiful filly. She travels well, moves well and has a lot of talent.BROADWAY GIRL (Justify) A $400,000 OBS March purchase for WinStar Farm awaiting her debut. This is a very talented filly that is getting close to making her debut.
