Nature Materials, Published online: 30 September 2026; doi:10.1038/s41563-026-02747-8Conventional photosensors typically require multitransistor architecture to achieve fast temporal response and adaptive sensory gain to mimic biological vision. An organic mixed ionic–electronic photosensor is developed to enable temporal-contrast detection and analogue amplitude control within a single active layer, realizing efficient event-driven neuromorphic vision.
