US30 — Dow loses the 0.236 retracement into the quarterly closeDow Jones Industrial Average IndexTVC:DJIgisabdib The Dow is trading at 50,929.08 on the 1H chart, down 189 points (-0.37%) on the session, and has just slipped below the 0.236 retracement at 50,950.20 — the shallowest level of the range measured from the August high at 54,278.43 down to the 49,922.11 anchor. Every element of the structure points the same way. Price sits below the 50 EMA (51,504.01) and the 200 EMA (52,203.78), with the faster average beneath the slower one. The descending trendline off the August high has capped each attempt to recover since early September, and the sequence of lower highs is intact. RSI is at 30.02, below its signal line at 39.68, and making fresh lows alongside price. There's no divergence here — momentum is confirming the move, not warning about it. That's a different picture from an oversold reading that forms while price holds steady. Levels: - Support: 49,922.11, the lower anchor of the range, roughly 1,000 points below current price. The round 50,000 handle sits just above it and will likely be defended first - Resistance: 50,950.20 (0.236) becomes the immediate ceiling now that it's broken. Above that, 51,504 (50 EMA) and 51,586 (0.382) form the first real cluster, then 52,100 (0.5) and 52,204 (200 EMA). Two things worth keeping in mind. Today closes the third quarter, and index rebalancing flows can distort the last sessions in either direction. And an RSI at 30 with no structure between here and 49,922 means the path lower is open, but also that a relief bounce can be sharp when it comes.
