The Cabinet has approved a scheme with a project outlay of ₹1.86 lakh crore to enhance green energy transmission. This initiative includes financial support of ₹54,082 crore for developing infrastructure and battery storage. The Green Energy Corridor phase III aims to evacuate 135 GW of renewable energy and build 50 GWh of battery storage. Transmission service providers will construct and manage the new lines through competitive bidding systems.
