Picked up writing a book as my new hobby. Ended up building a writing app instead.

Wait 5 sec.

I wanted to get into writing and went through a number of the recommended tools. None of them fit what I wanted, and some were actually rather complicated and others we're really expensive, and stuff like Obsidian didn't really fit what I wanted. So I decided to make my own, here's Plotscribe. The features that I like the most: Books are in a "World" so that I can access my entities in each book without having to recreate them. I can access my entities and their information in the writing so that I dont have to go searching. Planning in 3 different formats; Outline of the whole book, By Entity, or by Plot Line. Pomodoro-style Sessions built in. Write in a workspace with a writing team if needed, this is a monthly sub because of architecture obv. And a notes system built in that attach to entities and chapters. Its $10 for a lifetime license, but here's a coupon for free PSR10930 plotscribe.app submitted by /u/rb_alpha [link] [comments]
