Try it: https://repath-lake.vercel.app (no signup, nothing to install) Code (MIT): https://github.com/Agustin-Delgado/repath What it is A circuit simulator where you can draw analog parts and logic gates in the same schematic and it just works: it figures out where the two domains meet and inserts the converters itself. Wires light up by voltage and current flows along them, computed from the simulation. Why I built it I'm an electronic technician and the best tool I used is Proteus which is very cool but it has three problems for me: 1. It feels too old and slow. 2. You have to install it. 3. You have to pay for it. So I decided to build my own simulator: fast, in the browser and FREE. How it's built The engine is Rust compiled to WebAssembly: modified nodal analysis, Newton-Raphson, adaptive timestepping, the same family of techniques SPICE uses The UI is SvelteKit No backend at all. The whole circuit is compressed into the URL, so sharing a circuit is sharing a link: Here is one (press Run) The hard part Making analog and digital coexist. The digital side is event-driven and the analog side solves equations on a timestep, so the bridges between them have to ramp instead of jumping, and watch for threshold crossings between timepoints so no edge is missed. What I'd love feedback on Is it obvious what to do when you open it? And if you know electronics: which circuit breaks it? submitted by /u/Agustinxix [link] [comments]
