My bf comes from a wealthy family and there was a period of time where I was struggling (the first 8-10 months of us dating) financially (we’re both uni students). He would always offer to pay for dinner and buy us food, but I never expected him to take care of things for me. I’ve never even borrowed money from him. I’d only ask if it was legitimately smth urgent, but even then I wouldn’t be entitled about it, and I certainly never had any issue with him spending money on himself.
