Most macro apps are fine when you cook and weigh everything yourself. For me the workflow fails when eating out or grabbing meal-prep: I can still log afterwards, but the hard part is choosing a meal that actually fits the macros I have left for lunch or dinner. I'm the solo developer of EasyProtein (free iPhone app). Tracking stays in the app (AI meal scans, barcode, manual). The lead feature I'm building is different: recommend nearby café, restaurant, takeaway, and meal-prep meals that publish their macros and match your plan — so you choose before you order, not just track after. Rolling out one city at a time, starting with London. Early sources include chains like Joe & The Juice, GAIL's, LEON, and PURE when they publish nutrition. Coverage will have gaps; only venues that publish macros are in scope. Honest limits: London only for now; not a diet plan; published macros can be incomplete or stale; recommendations aren't live yet (coming in about the next week or two). I'd love blunt feedback from people who track macros and still eat out: which London venues should be first, what would make a recommendation useful vs noise, and where this framing is wrong. submitted by /u/epictime8 [link] [comments]
