Ingenico, the smart technology powering in-person commerce, today announced the opening of the Ingenico Fintech Innovation Hub at Kennesaw State University (KSU), the latest investment in its global strategy to develop the next generation of fintech talent.The Hub builds on a partnership between Ingenico and KSU, which began in late 2024. Nine former KSU interns have since joined Ingenico in full-time roles including software development, quality assurance, technical support, solutions engineering, and project management, demonstrating the program's success in creating pathways from education into careers in commerce technology.At the center of the Hub is an Ingenico lab where students can test payment devices in live-use scenarios and gain insight into the technologies shaping modern commerce."The future of our industry depends on attracting and developing talented people with the skills to innovate," said Olga Damiron, Chief People Officer, Ingenico. "Our partnership with Kennesaw State University is already delivering results, and this new hub takes that collaboration to the next level by giving students direct exposure to the technologies, challenges and opportunities shaping the future of commerce."“This all started as a vision, not a finished plan,” said Nick Suppiah, director of Kennesaw State’s Master of Science in Digital Financial Technologies. “I wanted our students to get real, hands-on training that would open doors for them to push financial tech into the future. Along the way, we realized they needed more than a classroom - they needed a place to build. I brought that vision to Ingenico, and it grew from there into something no one fully expected. We don't know exactly what fintech innovations will spark from this lab setting, but that's what makes it exciting. The sky's the limit, and I can't wait to see what our students create."Students in Suppiah’s project management course played an active role in shaping the Ingenico Fintech Hub. In 2025, a student team, including several participants who have since joined Ingenico, presented concepts to Ingenico’s leadership. Many of their recommendations were incorporated into the final design.The KSU partnership is one of several university collaborations supporting Ingenico's global talent strategy. Across North America, Europe and Asia, the company works with leading academic institutions to help students gain practical experience while building a strong pipeline of future engineers, technologists and fintech specialists.In the Asia-Pacific region, Ingenico collaborates with Maynooth International Engineering College (MIEC), Fuzhou University, Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China.
