Hello! I’m putting together a small core team for a 1–4 player co-op horror game currently in active development in Unreal Engine 5.8. About Me I’m a 26-year-old Software Developer & AI Engineer. I started programming at 13 making Minecraft plugins, graduated in AI Engineering in 2019, and have worked professionally in software/AI since. I haven’t shipped a commercial game before, but programming is the side of the project I’m comfortable handling myself. I’m looking for people whose strengths are in the areas where mine aren’t. What I need Animator: #1 PRIORITY: Character locomotion, interaction animations, entity movement/attacks, and especially unusual horror creatures. All current characters are already being rigged. Some are already done. An Animator is the biggest need for the project right now. 3D Model / Environment Artist: Additional props, environmental setting, lighting assistance, and helping bring the existing houses up to a consistent final quality. I plan to use a system called “Disturbance” which at different levels have different effects, Ex. Lights misbehaving, Rooms stretching, Layouts changing, Doors relocating or going missing altogether, and eventually diving into the entities “hunting”. The 3D artists are very important for this part of the project. We currently have 2 sound designers, Including a Composer and SFX artist, Aswell as myself and one other developer. This is not an idea-stage project. The recovery truck and equipment are implemented, the initial house roster is assembled, and the player characters and enemy roster are already modeled, partially textured, and currently being rigged. I’m currently building out complete playable nights from arrival → property recovery → entity encounters → extraction. About the game REPOSSESSED is a co-op horror game where players work for a shady recovery company sent into foreclosed and abandoned homes to reclaim valuable property. Decades earlier, a secret behavioral experiment called PROJECT ROOMWAKE connected several houses to an impossible shared space known as The Interior, where people were observed, distorted, and eventually reconstructed into hostile entities. Now those properties are becoming active again, and every recovery job pushes the boundary between the real house and The Interior closer to collapse, while the company quietly uses each crew as unwilling research subjects. There is a larger psychological-horror story behind the properties, the company, and the entities encountered throughout the game, but I’d rather keep the deeper lore and enemy mechanics private until speaking with serious potential team members. The co-op will be 1–4 player, peer-hosted through Steam, so one player acts as the listen-server host and friends join through Steam invites/lobbies. That means \*\*no dedicated servers or monthly hosting costs. We’re also planning host migration so a run can continue if the original host leaves. For voice, the plan is to use EOS Lobby Voice alongside Steam. Steam handles the actual multiplayer session, while EOS handles voice chat. The game then layers proximity voice, radio push-to-talk, and paranormal interference/static on top of that voice connection. Current Progress Already implemented or substantially underway: Recovery truck and equipment Initial selection of houses Player characters Enemy roster Character rigs 50% complete Paranormal encounter systems currently being integrated The project is intentionally scoped for a relatively short indie development cycle, with a current target around late Q1 to Q2 2027 Rev Share Revenue will be divided equally among the committed core team, with responsibilities, percentages, ownership, and expectations agreed in writing before work begins. I’m looking for a small group that wants some creative input into the project rather than just being handed a list of tasks. If you’re interested, send me a Reddit DM or add me on Discord: kazu_tv I can privately share screenshots, character designs, gameplay progress, the full project concept, lore, enemy designs, and roadmap with serious candidates. submitted by /u/Xonix1999 to r/INAT [link] [comments]
