Ryanair has welcomed an Irish High Court ruling rejecting eDreams’ challenge to the Irish courts’ jurisdiction, allowing the airline’s case against the online travel agency to proceed.The airline said the case seeks to stop eDreams from screenscraping Ryanair.com and overcharging customers.According to Ryanair, the ruling follows an earlier High Court order under which eDreams gave a permanent undertaking not to access Ryanair’s Travel Agent Direct (TAD) platform after the airline alleged it had been using the system without authorisation to resell Ryanair flights at higher prices.Ryanair said that while eDreams continues to reject its transparency standards, other approved online travel agency partners, including Booking.com, Lastminute and Kiwi, have direct access to its fares through distribution agreements that provide full price transparency.“We welcome this High Court victory for Ryanair and our customers over eDreams,” a Ryanair spokesperson said.The spokesperson added that the airline would continue pursuing its case and said Ryanair remains committed to ensuring customers can access its fares through approved travel agent partners.
