Autism in Racing is spreading its wings to America after an agreement was struck with Colonial Downs to support the initiative.It will be the first partnership outside of Britain and Ireland for Autism in Racing, which was launched in 2021 and can count two-time champion jockey William Buick and former Wrexham striker Paul Mullin as ambassadors.Sensory spaces are now a fixture at a number of Britain's largest racecourses – including Aintree, Ascot and Cheltenham – and Bobby Beevers, chair and founder of Autism in Racing, is excited to see what can be done on a wider scale as Colonial Downs prepares to host its first event on Sunday, July 26.“I'm delighted that Autism in Racing is heading to Colonial Downs on July 26,” said Beevers. “Bella [Hodge, racing marketing manager at Colonial Downs] reached out to me last year to say that they wanted to collaborate, and from that conversation we've built something really special.“I've always wanted Autism in Racing to expand internationally, so seeing us take this exciting step into the United States is a proud moment for everyone involved.
