Local restaurant The Aft Galley has shared a heartfelt post describing the mounting challenges it says have pushed the business to breaking point after months of disruption.The eatery said it returned to Malta five years ago with the dream of opening The Aft Galley in St Julian’s, but is now questioning that decision after what it described as a series of avoidable setbacks.According to the post, the restaurant was forced to close for an entire month from 25th May due to roadworks, before suffering a complete power failure during a fully booked service last Friday.It also said it has now been left without electricity for more than 20 hours, despite being told power would be restored.“The financial loss is staggering, but the emotional toll is worse,” the restaurant wrote, arguing that businesses are being let down by infrastructure that is struggling to cope.The post also questioned how Malta can encourage young people to build their future on the island when, it said, even basic utilities cannot be relied upon.Calling for compensation, answers and a functioning environment in which to operate, The Aft Galley thanked customers for their patience while appealing to the authorities to respond to what it described as a serious situation.What do you make of this?•
