Samsung has scheduled a Galaxy Unpacked event for tomorrow (July 22, 2026). The brand has hinted multiple times that it will unveil the company's next-generation flagship foldable smartphones at the event. The lineup is expected to include three models: the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8.While the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8 will succeed the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, respectively, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will be an entirely new addition to the lineup. It is expected to feature a 4:3 aspect ratio display—the first on a Samsung smartphone—and it appears the company is betting big on the new model.Samsung to manufacture Galaxy Z Fold 8 in higher quantities than Z Fold 8 Ultra, Z Flip 8According to a new report from ET News, Samsung had originally planned to produce the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra in equal numbers, giving it the flexibility to adjust production based on market demand. However, the company has reportedly revised those plans.Samsung now intends to manufacture 2.8 million units of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, compared to 2 million units of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra during the first three months after launch. The report says the brand made the change in response to growing demand for the wider, 4:3 aspect ratio model.As for the Galaxy Z Flip 8, the company plans to manufacture 1.5 million units of the phone in the first three months. That means among the three phones, the tech giant expects the Galaxy Z Fold 8 to have the highest demand and sell the most. Reportedly, Samsung will manufacture 6 million units of the three phones in total this year.
