The market rewards PatienceUS SPX 500OANDA:SPX500USDGeOrgeLubarskiOne lesson has stood above all others throughout my years studying the markets: patience and discipline. Jesse Livermore captured it perfectly: “After spending many years in Wall Street and after making and losing millions of dollars, I want to tell you this: It never was my thinking that made the big money for me. It always was my sitting. Got that? My sitting tight.” Looking at the SPX CFD, the noise surrounding the Middle East doesn't change my bigger picture. In my view, oil is already trading at relatively expensive levels and approaching major supply zones. At the same time, I expect the U.S. FED to remain committed to a neutral interest rate policy. But none of that changes my main point: The trend is up. As long as the higher-timeframe trend remains bullish, I prefer to stay aligned with it. I'm waiting for price to pull back into areas of interest before looking for continuation. Does that mean price has to reverse exactly from the level I've marked? Not at all. I'd actually welcome a deeper pullback if it offers a higher-quality opportunity. Long or nothing—until the market proves otherwise. Intraday trading can provide short opportunities, but my main focus has always been on the bigger picture.
