Tom Holland might be Spider‑Man, but not even his “spidey senses” could lure Erling Haaland to Tottenham Hotspur.Tottenham Hotspur do need a striker, and that is something many fans will agree with following the departure of Harry Kane. The England international was immense during his time in north London, becoming Spurs’ all-time leading goalscorer after netting an incredible 280 goals in 435 appearances.Tottenham’s efforts to replace the Englishman – who has only gone on to post numbers similar to those of the peak powers of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, having scored a whopping 72 goals – have not gone to plan.Dominic Solanke has been largely underwhelming, with injuries limiting his impact, and the same applies to Richarlison, who has had his fair share of injuries and inconsistencies.Photo by Lewis Storey/Getty ImagesErling Haaland reveals Tom Holland once tried to lure him to TottenhamSpurs’ striker issues seem to be something one avid Tottenham supporter – Spider‑Man actor Tom Holland – spotted long ago. And honestly, with his “spidey senses,” it’s hardly a surprise. This comes after Manchester City’s Erling Haaland reacted to a message he received from Holland back in 2020/21 when the superstar was still at Borussia Dortmund.Haaland was impressing at the time with his goal-scoring, racking up an impressive 41 goals. While Spurs still had the services of Harry Kane, the actor did make sure to try his best to get Haaland to sign for Tottenham. The City forward revealed what Holland penned in his unsuccessful message when speaking on his YouTube channel: “Hiya mate, just saw you are in Monaco. If you want to grab a drink or something, give me a shout. And please come join Spurs.”The message from Holland to the City forward came after he attended the 2021 Monaco Grand Prix and spotted Haaland. The Norwegian forward admitted to not knowing the renowned actor, hence why he failed to reply at the time.“I do not watch Spider-Man,” Haaland explained, before addressing a claim that said he thought Holland was ‘a random person’. “I said it in a funny way, but it got taken out of context. I sounded a bit rude, I even sent him a message because I felt bad…”Haaland finally accepts Holland’s invitation as Spurs hunt new strikerAll seems to be good now, with Haaland finally accepting the dinner invitation after five years. With all the stories coming back to life, in the comments on the Instagram post, Haaland tagged Holland and said: “Dinner invitation accepted. A little late. Just name the place!”Haaland also replied to the Spiderman actor via a DM, which read: “There’s a story going around that I was ignoring you. I just wanted to make sure you know that wasn’t my intention. And by the way, I’m not too sure about Spurs at the moment, but who knows in the future?”Holland remains a die-hard Spurs fan and recently revealed that he would be willing to give up the Oscars to see Tottenham win a league title.Spurs, on the other hand, remain in search of forward reinforcements this summer transfer window. Tottenham fans will be hoping that Holland puts a word in – and perhaps this time he is successful -although that remains rather unlikely after Haaland signed a deal that is set to keep him at the Etihad for close to a decade.READ MORE: Andy Robertson is ‘ready to fight’ Udogie and Spence for Tottenham left-back spotThe post ‘Who knows in the future’ – Erling Haaland doesn’t rule out Tottenham transfer in message to Tom Holland appeared first on Spurs Web.
