Tottenham Hotspur made it two wins from two pre-season games as they took on Auckland FC in the early hours of Sunday morning. Let’s take a look at our Spurs player ratings from the game.Tottenham player ratings vs Auckland FCBrandon Austin: A superb performance from the Tottenham Hotspur number three. Started with a smart stop from range in the opening minutes and ended with a point-blank save when Cosgrove went one-on-one. Some confident punches and slick passing with the ball at his feet too. 8.Tye Hall: Covering at right-back again today, Auckland rarely got in down their left. Hall read the game well and sat in a lot more than Kyerematen on the other side. 6.5.Malachi Hardy: The big winner in pre-season so far in terms of Tottenham defenders. Once again looked confident with the ball at his feet and dominant in the air. De Zerbi must surely like what he sees here. 7.Kota Takai: Looks like a real De Zerbi centre-back, but one who needs another couple of years of development. Really brave and positive on the ball, but gives away possession and free-kicks too often. 6.5.Rio Kyerematen: Picked up a knock early in the game after letting Auckland in behind a couple of times on his side, but ran it off. Struggled to cope with the doubling up at right-back without much help from Moore. 6.Jamie Donley: What an assured performance. You can see why De Zerbi likes him so much. Looked just as comfortable breaking play up from deep as he was clipping in crosses and taking shots from range. 8.Archie Gray: Fans have tipped him as a future captain and his audition went well today as he donned the armband. Clipped in a lovely cross that led to the opening goal, broke play up well, and started the game with a sensational driving run from deep. 7.5.Credit: @thefrederikkejensen / InstagramMikey Moore: Miscontrolled his first ball out of play but got a lot better from then on. Constantly looked to make runs in behind, but was also one of Tottenham’s most dangerous carriers in the final third. A couple of delicious crosses from an inverted position too. 7.5.Luca Williams-Barnett: Still looks raw when it comes to that final third decision-making but wow, what a talent. He moves around the pitch like liquid, and had three good half-chances to score in the first 45, including a header that went narrowly wide. 7.5.Manor Solomon: A real live wire down right wing, especially when making runs from out to in. That’s exactly how Gray picked him out for the first goal as Solomon side-footed a volley straight at the keeper. He put in a couple of great crosses too, but needs to be more clinical in and around the box. 7.Dane Scarlett: Scored the only goal of the half – a true striker’s goal. When Solomon’s volley rebounded off the keeper, Scarlett was there to tap it home into an empty net. Constantly looked to drop deep to get involved and showed some nice movement in the box. Deserved his brace in the second 45 after he almost charged down the keeper and also had a big chance blocked. 7.5.Substitutes:Ben Davies: Came on to cover at centre-back and looked nice and composed on the ball. 6.Mateus Fernandes: Kept things ticking over nicely and injected some fast, positive passing just as the game was losing its zip. 6.5.Conor Gallagher: Came on in a deeper role alongside Fernandes, but still pressed well, as we have come to expect from him. 6.Mathys Tel: Looked absolutely electric off the bench for Tottenham. Assisted the second goal after leaving his man for dead and cutting the ball back from the byline. Repeated the trick a few more times too and deserved a goal of his own. 8.Richarlison: Scored the second goal with a tap-in, albeit with some lovely movement in the box. Worked really hard in the final 15 mins and almost set up a third. 7.Yang Min-hyeok: Came on at right wing but didn’t see too much of the ball. 6.Tyrese Hall: Not at all confusing to see a Tottenham right side of Tye Hall and Tyrese Hall. N/AHarry Byrne: Came on to play at left-back for the final 10 mins. N/ATyler Tingey: Nice to see the 17-year-old get a few minutes. N/AReiss Russell-Denny: Played out the final few minutes at right-back. N/AThe post Tottenham player ratings vs Auckland FC as 8/10 trio catch the eye in 2-0 win appeared first on Spurs Web.
