In some ways, I’m in a very fortunate situation because I work at a micro company, and my boss is the owner. Basically work is super slow right now for reasons out of my control—we’re just not getting a ton of new clients this summer. I talk to my boss 1:1 every other week, and she doesn’t seem worried, but my heart sinks everyday I clock only a handful of hours. I make a very generous salary and I’m wondering how long she can afford to pay me with no new projects. Should I bring this up to soothe my nerves? Any thoughts on how to phrase this? We have a good relationship. Should I just trust that she’ll be honest with me if the time comes?
