A woman who made a video saying her husband would be the subject of a Netflix documentary and claiming he had an affair with a minor has allegedly been killed by her husband. Social media influencer Sara Gilson went viral on TikTok with a video alluding to her husband’s alleged actions. Gilson was shot on Thursday, July 23, in Owasso, Oklahoma, by her husband Jeremiah Duffey, according to Police records obtained by NBC News. The 43-year-old mother of two posted a video to TikTok just under two weeks before her death on July 12. In the viral clip, which was a part of a wider TikTok trend, she can be seen sitting in a chair, the caption reads, “preparing for when Netflix drops a documentary about my soon to be ex husband who I just found out is a pedophile.” Since being posted, the clip has received over 22 million views and 1.6 million likes. @mrsgilson I wish I was joking. #plottwist #netflix #documentary ♬ original sound – Sara While Sara didn’t provide more details about the allegations against her husband it seems the video wasn’t made in jest, as she wrote, “I wish I was joking.” Sara Gilson was shot in front of her son According to NBC News, a 911 call was made on Thursday night in which dispatchers heard a woman screaming followed by “what sounded to be a gunshot.” An attempt to call back was made, but there was no answer. Shortly after, another 911 call was made from a neighbor’s home. The call was made by a boy who claimed that his stepfather had shot his mother. Police responded to the domestic violence call, arriving on scene at 11:16 p.m., where they were met with the bodies of Gilson and Duffey. Both had apparently died from gunshot wounds. Police are reportedly still investigating the incident but believe it to be a murder-suicide, with Duffey being suspected of shooting Gilson. After the incident, attention returned to Gilson’s viral TikTok, with many viewers seeing it for the first time after her death. “First thing on my FYP moments after reading the news article about her MURDER,” wrote one shocked viewer. Others called out the police, whom they believed had failed to protect Sara: “Cops want a body before they do anything.” Gilson had apparently sought to end things with Duffey after she found out about allegations against him. Duffey, who had coached a travelling basketball team, was accused of molesting one of the girls, who was a minor, on the team. On June 10, Gilson filed and was granted an emergency protective order against Duffey. Sara Gilson leaves behind a son and daughter.
