Xbox outage leaves many gamers in the dark, but Microsoft is aware of the issue

Wait 5 sec.

Not to be outdone by its Sony counterpart, Microsoft’s Xbox is now suffering an apparently major outage to its services to kick off the week. Xbox functions such as Account and Profile, Store and Subscriptions, Games and Gaming, and Apps and Mobile are all suffering issues in the early morning hours of this Monday, leaving many unable to play their games. Screenshot by Destructoid Thankfully, Xbox Support says it’s aware of the issue and is “working on it,” which does little to assuage players who are looking to access their games today. So if you’re having troubles connecting, you’re not alone. This Xbox issue comes just a few days after widespread PlayStation Network problems that left PS5 gamers in the lurch for many hours, and both are a sad byproduct of the always-online and digital landscape we now live in as gamers. Massive, disruptive outages like these are thankfully pretty rare, but never any less frustrating when you finally find some free time to kick back and try out a new game or return to an old favorite. Hopefully the Xbox issues get sorted quickly, but either way, you can stay tuned in to the Xbox Status page to see what’s being affected and when it’s fixed. Just checking in on the game library, sign-in, and game launch issue. We know this has been going on a while and appreciate your patience while our teams keep working on it.
