So they’ve got absolutely no idea how good these horses are.“The majority of horses, look, they’ve underperformed. They’re obviously not good enough because they’ve never been tried and tested on a racecourse because they’re only little babies.”Jacob believes Egan has unfairly become the target for disappointing performances from inexperienced horses.“And David Egan is getting slack for that. He’s always getting someone picking away and chipping away at him.“And therefore you lose confidence.”Jacob also took issue with Amo Racing’s decision to seek the “best available jockey”, a phrase that has sparked debate since the announcement.Jacob wasn’t all smiles in his assessment of Amo RacingGetty“He’s turned around and he’s said, ‘well we want to use the best available jockey now’.“‘Using the best available now’ – Again, is another thing that absolutely infuriates me!“How is David Egan meant to go out there and ride a horse comfortably, whenever he thinks, ‘but you know what, I don’t know whether I’m going to ride this or the next day or not’?“So what am I meant to do? Am I meant to look after this horse for his future? Or for the rest of his career?
