Young people across Malta and Gozo are being invited to apply for the National Youth Parliament 2026, with applications now officially open.Organised by the Maltese National Youth Council (KNŻ), the annual initiative gives participants aged 13 to 35 the opportunity to experience life as a Member of Parliament by researching, debating and voting on policy proposals that address issues affecting young people and Maltese society.This year’s edition will focus on two key themes:• The Neutrality Clause in the Maltese Constitution• Balancing Population Growth, Infrastructure and the EnvironmentParticipants will spend the summer developing resolutions before presenting and debating them during a parliamentary session held at the Parliament of Malta.A dedicated day of debate and lobbying has also been introduced this year, allowing participants to discuss proposals, build coalitions and refine their resolutions ahead of the final session.The resolutions approved during the National Youth Parliament will later be presented to the President of Malta, the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition, giving young people the opportunity to put their ideas directly before the country’s top political leaders.The programme is open to all young people, regardless of previous experience in politics or activism.Applications are now open via this form.Share this with someone who should apply!•
