The compilation of evidence in the case against John Agius, the 74-year-old man accused of attempting to murder two police officers in St Julian’s, is set to begin next week on Thursday on 6th August.Agius is facing 12 charges, including the attempted murder of two police officers, in connection with the incident that unfolded on 24th July in Telgħet Birkirkara, St Julian’s.He was arraigned under arrest last Sunday and pleaded not guilty to all the charges brought against him.Meanwhile, Police Constable Johann Vella, who suffered life-threatening injuries to his face and neck during the incident, has been discharged from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Mater Dei Hospital.While his condition has improved, his injuries remain serious and he is expected to undergo extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation over the coming weeks and months.The case is scheduled to continue before Magistrate Gianella Camilleri Busuttil, who will oversee the compilation of evidence.•
