Rand Paul has released Dr Anthony Fauci‘s private diaries written during the COVID-19 pandemic, during which he served as the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director and as a key member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force. Fauci rapidly became a controversial figure during the pandemic as conspiracy theories abounded, with Rand Paul specifically claiming that Fauci concealed that the virus was human-made and that the American government helped create it. Now Paul has vowed he will “make sure Fauci answers for his dangerous decisions and the consequences they had for millions” in a hearing later today. Fauci’s extensive diaries are now available to read online, and it’s safe to say he doesn’t hold back with his personal thoughts about Donald Trump, variously describing him (as per The Guardian) as “rambling”, “crazy”, “desperate”, “bumbling”, “incompetent”, “an idiot”, “a true embarrassment”, and “totally nuts”. “Reminds me historically of Hitler” 1/9 — My investigation uncovered that Anthony Fauci kept a diary. What he wrote privately and what he told the country are two different stories.Today I'm releasing his entries from December 2019 through December 2022. pic.twitter.com/58LvmeYkCN— Senator Rand Paul (@SenRandPaul) July 25, 2026 Fauci also compares Trump to Adolf Hitler. On November 11, 2020, he says his “Fear is that Trump is stacking the DoD with loyalists if he really wants to do a coup and steal the election/democratic process,” which “Reminds me historically of Hitler”. He also slammed Trump for “making up stories” about him and his colleague Dr Deborah Birx, saying on March 29, 2021: “President Trump lashed back in response to the CNN Special last night and wildly criticized Deb and I even making up stories that I bad-mouthed Deb all the time. He is truly an obnoxious adolescent.” In another eyebrow-raising entry from Nov 3, 2021, Fauci details a call he had with Barack Obama. Fauci says Obama “started off the conversation by saying that he was concerned about me and how I was holding up under this onslaught of slanderous lies.” Fauci continued “I told President Obama about the crazy things that the far-right Republicans were doing including the fact that Donald Trump, Jr. had on his website the sale of sweatshirts and T shirts to collect money for his campaign and on the T shirts and sweatshirts it said “Fauci kills puppies “. Obama said that Donald Trump junior is “A f–king moron”. He apologized for using crude language but then went on to say that Donald Trump was a hopeless idiot who was a pathologic liar.” Fauci will appear in front of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee later today, with Paul now calling for him to be indicted for allegedly lying to Congress. In an interview with Fox Business, Paul said, “I expect he will not tell the truth. I don’t expect him to be honest, he hasn’t been honest in the last six years.”
