My daughter needed to be air lifted by helicopter to a children’s hospital for an emergency blood transfusion when she was 3, my insurance covered everything except that helicopter ride but she was in bad shape and they were honestly worried that she might not have made it to the children’s hospital by ambulance, I knew it would be expensive but as a father I couldn’t risk my daughters life for money, that 45 minute flight cost me $12k.. luckily my insurance ended up covering half after a review, but I still spent all my savings for that flight.. My point, children are expensive as fuck.. shit can happen that is literal life or death and if you don’t have $600 for the consultation, you can’t afford a child.. my daughter is starting school next month and it was $300 just for all the supplies and her clothes..
