When i was a kid in the 1990's 60 dollars was about the norm for a pair of basic sneakers. Uh, no, it wasn't. I grew up in the same time and literally no pair of shoes I ever had exceeded maybe $15. Even in the late '90s when I was buying my own, it was at Sears or Payless, and following similar prices. Many commenters on the thread are echoing similar sentiments. Perhaps your family was a bit better off than you realize? 🤔
