Tottenham are set to face Sydney FC next on their pre‑season tour of New Zealand and Australia, which means it’s time for our predicted Spurs XI.Tottenham Hotspur have a busy pre-season schedule with seven games lined up this summer. So far, Spurs have ticked two off their list after playing MK Dons and Auckland FC. Roberto De Zerbi’s men secured victories in those clashes, with Tottenham beating MK Dons 1-0 before making the long trip to Oceania for their pre-season tour and getting it off to a winning start by beating Auckland 2-0.The tour continues, and up next is Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium. De Zerbi will certainly be hoping his players can continue to improve with the Premier League season just less than a month from kicking off. Spurs fielded a young XI last time out against Auckland, but we expect something very different against Sydney – and here is our predicted starting XI for the friendly game.Credit: @tristram pearson/InstagramTottenham predicted XI with stars returning vs SydneyGoalkeeper – Antonin Kinsky: De Zerbi turned to Brandon Austin against Auckland as he opted against using his first-team regulars following the long travel to Australia. However, this time we do expect to see Kinsky in goal for Tottenham vs Sydney in pre-season.Right-back – Archie Gray: Deployed in central midfield last time out against Auckland FC, Gray was impressive and put in a real captain’s performance as he donned the armband. But with more experienced stars likely to be reintroduced, he could be deployed at right-back for Tottenham.Centre-back – Kevin Danso: It could be a first appearance for one of Spurs’ returning World Cup stars at the heart of the defence as De Zerbi looks to get Danso up to speed.Centre-back – Ben Davies: The veteran featured from the bench last time out and could be thrown straight into the mix from the start this time. However, De Zerbi is not short of options, with the likes of Micky van de Ven and Jan Paul van Hecke all available to him.Left-back – Andy Robertson: The Scotland international will no doubt be raring to go and get his first start for Spurs since his move this summer. It could well come on Wednesday.Defensive midfield – Mateus Fernandes: His spectacular strike against MK Dons will still be on the minds of many Tottenham fans, who will be itching to see the Portuguese midfielder kick a ball for their side again. We expect him to return to the eleven.Central midfield – Sandro Tonali: The big-money signing was not part of the squad at all against Auckland, and De Zerbi did hint that Tonali could return against Sydney.Central midfield – Conor Gallagher: James Maddison’s fitness continues to be managed, as De Zerbi revealed, and that should see Gallagher complete the midfield trio.Right wing – Manor Solomon: The Israeli put in a strong performance against Auckland FC last time out. It is reported that Solomon is not part of De Zerbi’s plans and could be moved on this summer. He is certainly putting himself in the shop window with every strong performance, and hopefully it continues on Wednesday.Striker – Dominic Solanke: It was Dane Scarlett who led the line last time out and the youngster grabbed a goal. It is very unlikely he starts consecutive games, and as a result Solanke should return to the Tottenham starting XI.Left wing – Mathys Tel: Another bright spark for Tottenham against Auckland, having grabbed an assist from the bench.
