Yeah, few months ago I bought my mum an iPhone 8. Received it, tried to set it up… oh, too old to download the banking app, it wasn’t supported any longer. Which is one of the key things my mum uses her smartphone for. She’s not all in on socials, but being unable to access the things she does use… makes the thing useless. And as the time ticks on, eventually other apps would be unsupported… meaning she’ll need another new one soon. So I’m not gonna fault the OOP for asking for a younger model phone.
