Wait 5 sec.

Before the Leech story above, we had Leech stay with us when I was in Junior HS. So, I was around 12 or 13 at the time. Her kids were maybe 6 or 7. Now, it’s not like we had a big house even though there were three bedrooms. My grandfather snored like a freight train, so he slept in the back room. My grandmother slept in the “front” bedroom and I had the middle. But when Leech came around whining that she needed a place to sat for “two weeks” my grandmother fell into “Well, they are FAMILY” trap and said OK. I had twin beds in my room, so my grandmother let Leech and her goblins stay in her room….and you guessed it…my grandma moved into MY room. There is no such thing as a THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLD BOY that wants to share a bedroom with his grandmother! Especially when the “two weeks” lasted damn near three months. My grandmother, rest her soul, wanted them gone, but she worried about Leech 1 and Leech 2 since they were “babies”. (They were little hellions). Leech didn’t bother paying for food or even doing a damn thing to help my grandmother around the house. She would go out with her floozy friends and leave the kids for my grandmother to feed. My grandfather wanted them gone, but grandma decided that she could make them want to leave by serving the same thing for dinner every night…. franks and beans. But that was never going to work. Leech ate out and her goblins didn’t care what they were eating. Hell, once Leech ordered a pizza, took it upstairs and ate it herself while her goblins slurped up franks and beans. After two weeks of franks and beans I was losing my shit. To this day I can’t stand franks and beans because of this. I’m walking home from school with a group of friends, one off them being my cousin “K”. Everyone was talking about what they were going to eat for dinner. You know, “My mom is making lasagna!” and “Yeah, my folks said we’re having beef stew” or “We’re having pork chops with some rice and asparagus”. That’s when K looked at me and said “Hey, D4, what’s Aunt *Grandmother’s name* making tonight?” I just broke down nearly in tears and said “Franks and beans! That’s all we ever eat because Leech won’t get the fuck out of my house!” I fully expected K and the others to laugh at me, but K grabbed me by the shoulders and said “Fuck that! If your grandma ain’t gonna kick her out, YOU do it!”. For some reason that got me super fired up. I took off running to the house and busted in the front door to find Leech lounging on the couch watching TV and flipped out yelling “GET THE FUCK OUT OF OUR HOUSE! I’M SICK OF THIS BULLSHIT! YOU GODDAMN FREELOADING B-WORD!” My grandparents came running out of the kitchen when they heard me screaming. Leech was so shocked she couldn’t even say anything. As soon as I saw my grandparents I said “It’s her or me! She stays and I’m leaving!” (Because as I said before I always had the option to go live with my mother.) That was all the ammo my grandfather needed, he’s the one that wanted me to live with him and grandma once my mother got remarried and moved. He told Leech “You heard the boy. You got ‘til the end of the week to get out. I don’t care where you go.” Leech moved out a day or so after to sponge off someone else. Probably her ex-con boyfriend. But that’s why I had little to no patience with her as I got older. All she ever did was mooch off relatives and it was maddening.
