RJ Corp, led by Ravi Jaipuria, has appointed former Diageo executive Prathmesh Mishra as it explores expanding into the premium alcoholic beverages segment, according to people familiar with the matter. The move comes after PepsiCo bottler Varun Beverages signed a new agreement allowing it to diversify beyond soft drinks, amid strong growth in India's premium spirits market. Mishra brings extensive experience from Diageo, Pernod Ricard and Mohan Meakins, while RJ Corp is also evaluating opportunities in the beer segment, including a potential stake acquisition in Bira 91.
