DJ Nimrod has reflected on the early days of his career, revealing that he willingly carried bags and assisted some of Uganda’s most celebrated deejays as he worked towards becoming one himself.According to Nimrod, he saw every opportunity to be around experienced deejays as a chance to learn, even if it meant doing behind-the-scenes tasks.I used to carry bags for celebrity deejays like DJ Shiru, Silverback, Rota and many others so that I could learn what they were doing.He explained that simply watching them perform, interact with crowds, and handle their work taught him invaluable lessons that he later applied to his own career.By observing from a distance, he gradually copied their techniques and developed his own style behind the decks.Nimrod also credited veteran deejays for giving him opportunities to prove himself when he was still starting out.He specifically praised DJ Silverback, saying he regularly allowed him to accompany him to gigs, set up equipment, and even perform during some events.DJ Silverback gave me so many gigs whenever I walked with him.
