She was 1-6 to add to Aidan O'Brien's tally in Leopardstown's G3 Saudi Cup Silver Flash Stakes and despite landing the odds Alpha (Sea The Stars) made her backers sweat at the finale.Cutting a different figure to the dominating filly that achieved TDN Rising Star status at The Curragh last month, the daughter of Alpha Centauri (Mastercraftsman) was needing the line late as Dancing Destiny (Magna Grecia) flew home. There was a fast-diminishing head between them there, with Alpha's pacemaking stablemate Nevermindtherain (No Nay Never) 1 1/4 lengths away in third.O'Brien blamed the winner's workmanlike display on a mixture of her tardy start and not being cherry-ripe. “She was a little bit slow away and Ryan said he had to wake her up and then was racing in a gear too high and doing a little bit too much for one needing the run,” he explained. “Wayne got away [on Nevermindtherain] and it was a mess. She got a little bit tired, as we're training her for the programme rather than each race so we'll look forward to the next day.”“She's a big filly who is growing–she was ten kilos heavier today than the last day. It's hard to believe. She was 540 kilos last time and was 550 today, she's 16'3 and if we leave her she'll turn into a monster. Very few colts would be that weight, even the three-year-old and four-year-olds she's athletic and I'd say she's something very unusual.”“We used this as a racecourse gallop and she will have learned a lot today,” he added. “She'll be fine. She's lovely and very good I'd say. We'll keep her at seven for now for the Debutante and Moyglare and whether she has another after that I don't know. She'll probably get a mile next year and a mile and a quarter, but whether she gets a mile and a half I don't know.
