Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja has officially announced the launch of the National Cleaning Days Initiative under the slogan, “A Clean Uganda is Everyone’s Responsibility.”The nationwide exercise will officially commence this Saturday, July 25, 2026, and will thereafter be observed on every last Saturday of the month from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. During the three-hour period, all non-essential public activities will be suspended, with only emergency services and vehicles exempted.According to the Prime Minister, all shops will remain closed and vehicles will stay off the roads during the exercise to enable Ugandans to participate in the mandatory community cleaning campaign. The initiative is intended to promote cleanliness, improve hygiene, and help prevent the spread of diseases.Nabbanja explained that the decision was reached during a Cabinet meeting held on August 11, 2025, chaired by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
