COMPASS is a Croatian-registered, EU-facing NGO that was started this year by Robert Steiner and Andrea Miljković Kosovac. Both having decades of experience in different fields, Robert and Andrea, converged on a shared insight. Rules existed and the intent was sound, but the translation from legislative text to lived experience was consistently inadequate - and the people bearing the greatest cost of that failure were always the people with the least power to address it. With a shared love for both technology and Europe, and given the current state of tech regulation - think the cookie banner or AI regulation in the EU - COMPASS was created.
