TSLA Into Q2 Earnings: Trapped Between S/R, With a Path to $460Tesla, Inc.BATS:TSLAfinancialflagshipAll eyes are on Tesla tonight as the company reports Q2 2026 numbers after the close, with the call to follow at 5:30 p.m. ET. The unusual part of this print is that the headline is already out: Tesla delivered a record 480,126 vehicles for the quarter, up roughly 25% year-over-year and well above where the Street had it penciled in. That takes the volume question off the table and puts the entire weight of the reaction on margins, free cash flow, and the energy business. In other words, we already know Tesla sold the cars — tonight tells us whether it made money doing it. With options pricing in something in the region of a 7% swing, this is one of those events where the chart matters right up until 4:00 p.m. and then hands the wheel to the fundamentals. Zooming out on the 4H, price is boxed inside a wide range defined by the two red lines — the 498.80 ceiling up top and the 337.00 floor down below. Between those two extremes the structure is frankly messy: we've had the April flush into the lows, the aggressive May recovery back toward 455, and then a choppy, lower-quality grind back down that has left us sitting around 379, below the shorter-term moving averages and right on top of the lower demand zone near 370. This is the kind of two-sided, overlapping price action that doesn't reward strong directional conviction on its own. Until we get a clean break and hold outside one of those red boundaries, the base case is that we keep rotating within the range and treating the mid-360s to low-370s as the line in the sand for buyers. That said, a genuinely strong margin print on top of the record delivery number gives the bulls a real story to work with. The move I'm watching for is a push back up into the 450–460 supply zone to retest that minor resistance where sellers stepped in during May — the natural magnet if tonight's report clears the bar. A rejection there would keep the broader range intact and set up another rotation lower, while a decisive close above it would be the first real signal that this messy structure is trying to resolve toward the 498.80 upper line. The setup is clean enough on paper: hold the lower box, and 460 is in play; lose 337, and the whole range is invalidated to the downside.
