ShareYan Diomande's transfer saga seems to be heading towards a close as Real Madrid are the last team standing in the race for the teenager.RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande is set to join Real Madrid this summer after Paris Saint-Germain pulled out of the race to sign the teenager.PSG seemed to be the favourites to sign Diomande earlier in the window, with the two-time reigning Champions League winners said to be his preferred destination.Liverpool were also rumoured to be interested in the Ivorian, but like PSG, were put off by the asking fee and salary from the club and player, respectively.Madrid have already seen a €100m bid rejected by Leipzig, but are continuing negotiations with the Bundesliga club after agreeing personal terms with Diomande.PSG have changed their stance on transfer fees and player wages in recent years, most notably letting go of Gianluigi Donnarumma after the goalkeeper and club could not agree on a new deal.The Parisian club told Sky in Germany: "PSG has formally withdrawn its interest in, and bids for, Yan Diomande."The asking transfer fee and salary demands were completely disproportionate and distortive - and PSG will not break its principles of rational financial management and squad balance."Diomande led the Bundesliga in completed dribbles (118 – 50 more than any other player) and take-on ending carries (104 – 29 more than any other player) last season.He also directly contributed to 20 goals (12 goals, eight assists) in the German top-flight last term, the sixth-most.PSG will likely remain in the market for a winger after Bradley Barcola reportedly turned down a new contract in search of a move this summer.
