The autopsies carried out yesterday on 43-year-old Gregory O’Brien and his five-year-old son Logan have shed more light on the tragic circumstances surrounding their deaths.Sources close to TVM News confirmed that the medical examinations established that both the father and son suffered severe injuries to their heads, necks and chests, caused by strikes from a boat’s propeller.The same sources said the injuries were fatal and that Gregory and Logan died instantly upon being struck by the propeller.The father and son lost their lives in the early hours of Sunday after the dinghy they were travelling in capsized following a collision with another boat off Ġnejna.Investigations found that just minutes before the incident, Gregory and Logan had disembarked from another boat that was anchored offshore and had gone for a short ride in the dinghy when the collision occurred.Their bodies were recovered from the sea by members of the Civil Protection Department following a search operation coordinated by the Armed Forces of Malta.Meanwhile, Magistrate Joe Mifsud is leading a magisterial inquiry, while Police investigations remain ongoing to establish all the circumstances that led to the tragedy.•
