Without their work, their runs, their passes, without that team spirit that carried us from the first to the last match, I never could have scored so much. This title belongs to the team as much as it does to me. As a kid, I dreamed of playing in a World Cup, at least one. I've played in three, won one, and this year, I had the pride of competing in it with the captain's armband. I'll never forget it. You stayed up late, sometimes until the middle of the night depending on the time zones, to watch us play on the other side of the world, you gathered at home, in bars, with family or friends, all over France and beyond. Others were right there with us, in the stadiums, flags over their shoulders. Children with eyes sparkling, men and women of all origins and all generations together, united around the same pleasure, that of sharing. That's the power of this sport.
