ShareAbdukodir Khusanov endured a shaky start to life with Manchester City, but an impressive 2025-26 season has earned him a new deal.Abdukodir Khusanov has signed a new five-year contract with Manchester City.The defender, who joined from Lens in January 2025, will remain with the club until 2031, after his previous deal was set to expire in June 2029.Khusanov has made 47 appearances for City across all competitions, helping them win both the FA Cup and EFL Cup last season.The 22-year-old became a key part of City's defence alongside Marc Guehi for the second half of the 2025-26 season, featuring in 16 of their last 19 Premier League games.From the start of February 2025, Khusanov won the joint-second most tackles among City defenders across all competitions (19), recorded the second-most interceptions (27) and won the fourth-most duels (64).He also started in all three of Uzbekistan's group games at the 2026 World Cup."This is a great day for me and my family – I am really happy to extend my stay at City," Khusanov told the club website."I’ve enjoyed every minute since I arrived in Manchester and I feel I am growing and learning a lot as a player. "I have a new challenge now, which is to impress Enzo Maresca and his staff and ensure I am in his team regularly. I am determined to do that. "Thank you to the City fans for all of your support.
