With FPL managers only able to select three players from each club, there are still a few Spurs stars who stand out.Based on last season’s numbers, Marcos Senesi is the obvious place to start. The Argentine finished joint third among defenders for points alongside Virgil van Dijk, trailing only Gabriel and Marc Guehi. That explains why his price has jumped from £4.5m at the start of last season to £6.0m this time around, and he still looks capable of offering excellent value.That said, we actually think Micky van de Ven could prove to be the smarter pick. The Dutchman is likelier to start on the left side of Tottenham’s defence alongside fellow countryman van Hecke, a partnership that should increase Spurs’ chances of keeping clean sheets. Having also scored seven goals last season, £5.0m looks like an absolute bargain for a defender with his potential.Our third choice would also come from the back line, at least for now. Mohammed Kudus is currently sidelined through injury, and our thinking could easily change if Tottenham bring in another goalscoring forward before the window closes. As things stand, though, Pedro Porro edges it after registering seven goal contributions last season, while also scoring twice for Spain at the World Cup.
