Cong. appoints observers to select DCC chiefs - The HinduUpdated - July 24, 2026 09:42 pm IST - BENGALURUAll India Congress Committee (AICC) and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) observers have been appointed to oversee the selection of presidents for 40 District Congress Committees (DCCs) across the state, AICC general secretary K.C. Venugopal said on Friday.Mr. Venugopal, AICC general secretary in charge of Karnataka Randeep Singh Surjewala, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, and KPCC president B.K. Hariprasad held a meeting to discuss the appointment process as part of the Congress’ nationwide Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan.The observers will visit each district, stay there for about a week, hold extensive consultations with local party leaders and workers, and recommend suitable candidates for the posts of DCC presidents, Mr. Venugopal said.The meeting also reviewed measures to strengthen the functioning of the District Congress Committees.
