Identity Malta has successfully completed the renewal of around 160,000 National Identity Cards, marking the end of a major nationwide renewal exercise.During a visit to the Agency, Infrastructure, Planning and Employment Minister Jonathan Attard praised the milestone, saying the project has strengthened the quality and security of Malta’s identity documents.The minister also revealed that more than eight million transactions were carried out through Malta’s eID system during the first six months of the year, highlighting the continued growth of the country’s digital services.Identity Malta also processed around 250,000 applications across its various services during the same period. Meanwhile, Identity Card renewal services offered through Local Councils will continue to remain available in the coming weeks and months.The Agency said it remains committed to investing in digital services, improving customer experience and strengthening its workforce, while reminding residents to ensure their Identity Card remains valid at all times.•
