Common Man’s Party (CMP) President Hon. Mubarak Munyagwa has explained why he doesn’t attend concerts and entertainment events in Kampala, citing concerns over inadequate security at such gatherings.The former Kawempe South MP recalled a past experience at a concert held at Hotel Africana, where he said the VIP section was eventually overrun by the general audience, raising serious security concerns.The reason I don’t purposely attend concerts is that the last time I went to an event at Hotel Africana, there was a designated VIP section. But by around 10:00 p.m., the VIP area had been infiltrated by the general audience. That’s when I realized security at many concerts is usually compromised. He noted that the lack of proper crowd control puts both invited guests and ordinary revelers at risk, especially when entering and exiting concert venues.Despite his concerns, Munyagwa said he is considering attending King Saha’s upcoming concert after recently reconciling with the singer.I will talk to my team and assess whether we’ll be able to attend the show. If not, we’ll at least buy a table. I just want to be sure that we can be secure before and after the concert because leaving the venue after the show is usually a struggle.Munyagwa’s remarks come after he publicly encouraged fans to support King Saha’s upcoming concert, insisting he has no personal grudge against the singer.I don’t have any issues with king Saha.- Hon.
