AMD at $520: Bounce Zone or Trapdoor?Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.NASDAQ:AMDBullBearInsights WAIT. Bearish until AMD proves it can recover $535. 1 Hour The 1 hour chart tells the real story. AMD lost the rising support line that had been holding the recent structure, then failed to recover it. Price is now sitting near $521 after several rejections from the $550 to $560 area. The small candles near the low do not look bullish yet. They look more like sellers pausing after a strong move down. AMD needs to reclaim $529 first. A move back above $535 would be the first meaningful sign that the breakdown is being repaired. Below $521, I would expect another test of $518, with $515 becoming the next important level. 15 Minute This is where the setup gets tricky. AMD is already trading inside the larger demand zone between roughly $508 and $524, so chasing puts at the current price carries poor risk. At the same time, the chart remains in markdown. Every bounce has produced another lower high, and buyers have not created a convincing reversal move. The sweep near $518 attracted buyers, but they still could not recover $526 to $529. Demand is present, but buyers are not in control. GEX The options map puts $535 at the center of the battle. As long as AMD remains below this level, price can stay heavy and volatility may remain elevated. The main call resistance sits near $545. That would likely become a difficult ceiling even if AMD starts bouncing. On the downside, $515 is the first put support, while $500 is the larger level traders should respect. Calls represent about 63 percent of the positioning, but I would not read that as automatically bullish. Price is still below the important GEX levels, and the current positioning could create sharper movement in either direction. I would consider calls only after AMD reclaims $529 and then holds above $535. That would open room toward $540 and $545. For puts, I would prefer a weak bounce into $526 to $529 followed by rejection, or a clean loss of $518 and $515. Below $515, the larger downside target becomes $500. My read is simple. AMD is sitting in a possible bounce zone, but this is not a confirmed dip buy yet. Would you buy the demand zone near $520, or wait for AMD to reclaim $535 first?
