The FinancialCommission has launched a voluntary certification programme for proprietarytrading firms, introducing an independent framework to assess firms againststandards covering trading rules, payouts, risk management and disputehandling.The new Prop FirmCertification programme extends the organisation's external dispute resolution servicesto the proprietary trading sector. Firms that meet the required standardsfollowing an independent review will receive certification and be allowed todisplay the Financial Commission's certification badge.Certification Framework Adds IndependentMarket OversightNikolai Isayev, ChiefOperating Officer of the Financial Commission, said the proprietary tradingsector has expanded rapidly and now requires independent standards. He saidthe programme applies "transparent rules, fair enforcement and clearpayouts" to a market that has lacked "a credible, independentbenchmark." He added that it provides firms with "a realistic path toprove they play fair" while giving traders greater confidence.According to theorganisation, firms are assessed through an evidence-based review of theirrulebooks, evaluation criteria, payout policies, risk controls anddispute-handling practices. Certified firms will also be subject to ongoingmonitoring and annual renewal.Ruben Abitbol, Founderof RUBIK and a member of the programme's expert committee, said the industryneeds "greater transparency and accountability." He added thatdecisions should be based on "facts and benchmarks, rather than pressureor perception."Programme Sets Conduct Standards forProp FirmsThe framework is builtaround five principles: clear trading rules, consistent enforcement,transparent payouts, responsible risk management and access to the FinancialCommission's independent dispute resolution process.
