The application of the Kalman Filter-Optimized RSI is not limited to Daytrading; it is equally effective in helping us analyze overall market trends. Because the Kalman Filter-Optimized RSI utilizes a Kalman Filter to eliminate market noise that does not affect the primary trend, it outperforms other technical indicators in predicting market strength. For instance, during most of last year, the Kalman Filter-Optimized RSI remained above the zero line and flashed "green," indicating a buy-dominant market. Furthermore, the Nasdaq experienced its strongest rally last year between May and November, surging from 17,710 points to a high of 24,019 points. Throughout this rally, the Kalman Filter-Optimized RSI consistently held above 70. This signaled that the market was in its strongest upward phase, meaning any brief correction presented a buying opportunity. Such a scenario is virtually impossible when using traditional technical indicators; over a six-month period, conventional tools would inevitably trigger "sell" signals, misleading traders into believing the rally had ended. To illustrate this, consider standard indicators like the traditional RSI, MACD, and Stochastic Oscillator. Between May and November of last year, the standard RSI occasionally dropped below the 30 oversold threshold, while the MACD issued multiple bearish signals. Similarly, the Stochastic Oscillator—which is highly sensitive to price action—also generated numerous short signals. In contrast, even though the Kalman Filter-Optimized RSI was configured with a short parameter of 5 (which theoretically makes an RSI highly sensitive to price fluctuations), its Kalman Filter optimization allowed it to clearly signal that the Nasdaq's underlying momentum remained exceptionally strong. Applying the Kalman Filter-Optimized RSI to recent market conditions reveals that it broke below the zero line on June 23, providing an early warning of a potential correction in US equities. Subsequently, the Nasdaq began to consolidate. By July 20, the Kalman Filter-Optimized RSI dropped below 30 into the oversold zone. Despite this, the market still anticipated a potential rebound. Over the next two trading days, the Nasdaq did bounce from 25,508 points to around 25,880 points; however, following this minor relief rally, it began to plunge heavily, breaking below 25,000 points by July 23. The primary concern now is that if the Kalman Filter-Optimized RSI continues to move sideways while pinned below the 30 oversold line, US stocks could enter a more substantial corrective phase. The Federal Reserve's interest rate meeting is scheduled for July 29, and interest rate futures currently show a 33% chance of a rate hike. If a rate hike cycle officially begins, it could very well serve as the catalyst for a major sell-off in the US stock market.
