A guest at a Hilton Hotel in Orlando recently had a strange experience. During her stay, Nadine (roxystar80) returned one night to find that everything, including her water, had been removed and allegedly thrown away. The only thing left behind was her toothbrush and toothpaste. After her initial post about it went viral on TikTok, she’s been uploading updates as she tries to sort through the issue with corporate and the local hotel in Florida. Now, Nadine has come to the platform with a new update, following her last few conversations with the hotel and after she filed a case with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. She starts her story with a quick timeline and summary, explaining that she officially checked out on Thursday and was later contacted by the hotel manager and security team. She alleged that “they confirmed housekeeping removed my items, but could not recover anything other than the hat.” The manager purportedly apologized and offered to refund her $24 parking fee. When she declined, the manager suggested providing points to her account. Nadine noted her confusion, stating, “I don’t really know what the points are. I guess I mean, I don’t really think I have enough points in my account that more points would be substantial to make an impact.” Hilton Corporate allegedly maintained their lukewarm response When Nadine provided the whole story to Hilton Corporate through email. She summarized their reply, “Thank you for taking the time to share these details. We understand how concerning and frustrating, blah, blah, blah, like that. We do see in this case notes that Property Advising spoke to you on July 18th and offered Hilton honor points in response to your concerns.” Nadine claimed that Hilton’s response further stated that the matter of handling personal belongings falls under safety and security procedures, and that any further review must be handled directly by the hotel. @roxystar80 Replying to @Queeninlc travel nightmare saga continues #fypシ #travelnightmare #hotel #orlando ♬ original sound – 𝒩𝒶𝒹𝒾𝓃𝑒 She told TikTok that she expressed her frustration with this corporate dismissal and noted that she’d already informed the front desk manager that she wasn’t interested in additional points and noted that it wouldn’t meaningfully address what occurred, since every promise made to her has gone unfulfilled. She said, “They’ve promised to follow up with me. That hasn’t happened. They promised the points. That didn’t happen. But in their defense, my account suddenly miraculously updated yesterday, and they added 20,000 points.” Even with the points appearing in her account, she remains focused on the missing items. “I don’t know what the points will get me, what the 25 to 30,000 points is valued at, but that’s not what I’m asking for,” she added. Nadine confirmed that she’s filed a police report with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and says she’s also opened a case with Hilton, which she claimed was kicked back to the property with a requirement to respond within a specific timeframe. According to Nadine, that deadline passed without a word. “I’m going to call them today and ask them. I’m going to be like, the people need an update, Hilton. Where are we at with this investigation? Where’s my staff?” she said. An Atlanta man also had a bizarre encounter with hotel staff recently when his request for a key led to the receptionist having a meltdown. Legally, the Law Offices of Wolf & Pravato note that under the concept of innkeeper liability, a hotel may be held responsible for the loss or theft of a guest’s property unless the loss was due to specific exceptions like acts of God or the guest’s own negligence. If a hotel’s negligence leads to theft, Florida Statutes § 509.111 may limit liability, especially if the hotel provided a receipt for items left for safekeeping or if the items were in a room safe. Her viewers were mostly incensed with Hilton by her update. One user commented, “Can you buy new clothes, shower stuff, water bottles and notes with those points? If not, they’re completely useless.” Another user pointed out the difficulty of navigating corporate chains, noting, “majority of the hotel chain properties are not operated by the chain itself. usually the franchise operators will have multiple hotels and often under multiple brands.” Others expressed solidarity with Nadine, with one person writing, “You could give me 3 TRILLION ‘points’ but I’ll never stay in a Hilton again. WHERE IS YOUR STUFF????” and another adding, “Thank you for the update! The amount of times you have had to explain the story is insane. I am glad you are not giving up. Yes- The people will keep needing updates.” Aside from the reply Nadine summarizes in her video, Hilton Hotels has not commented directly on her allegations.
