A Maltese cat shelter has issued an urgent appeal for help after being left without electricity for more than 17 hours, warning that the ongoing heatwave is putting vulnerable cats’ lives at risk.In a Facebook post, Carers for Stray and Abandoned Felines (CSAF) said its shelter has been without power since around 9pm last night, describing the situation as “critical”.The organisation said its biggest concern is its medical rooms, where cats recovering from surgery or undergoing treatment are being cared for.The rooms, which are housed in converted medical containers, rely on air conditioning to maintain safe temperatures.
