Enemalta has reminded customers that its 24-hour helpline, 153, remains available as crews continue working around the clock to restore electricity following a series of cable faults during Malta’s ongoing heatwave. The company said restoring power to affected households as quickly and safely as possible remains its top priority, with engineers, technicians and contractors working day and night to repair faults across the island.Electricity has already been restored in Birkirkara, Balzan, Lija, Iklin, Xemxija and Mellieħa, while repair crews are currently focused on parts of Cottonera, Kalkara, Fgura and Żabbar.Where possible, Enemalta said it is providing alternative electricity supplies to reduce disruption while permanent repairs are carried out.Executive Chairperson Ryan Fava said every available resource has been deployed to restore power, thanking customers for their patience as the company deals with the outages.According to Enemalta, the faults were caused by days of exceptionally high temperatures combined with record electricity demand, placing significant strain on parts of Malta’s distribution network. The company added that it has additional teams on standby to respond to any further faults and said areas where network upgrades have already been completed have continued to perform well despite the unprecedented demand.Anyone still experiencing electricity supply issues is urged to contact Enemalta’s 24-hour helpline on 153.Share to raise awareness!•
